Resource Manager
26 March 2015 "A contemplation of God’s merciful provision is designed to touch the hearts of His people. Let us see that our hearts are not hardened. Two lessons are obvious. Firstly, humility. God has taken our weakness into account and sent His Son, in our nature, to help us. Our Lord’s humanity enabled him to work on our level, and help us as he could not otherwise have done. Our humanity qualifies us likewise to help our fellows to get nearer to God. How wanting in understanding are all who vaunt themselves above their fellows, instead of serving them with humility! They are emulating Adam who grasped at equality with God, instead of following Jesus who took upon him the form of a bond-servant." - Peter WatkinsThe Still Small Voice (1961)

Our love for God should be pulsating; a continuous flow, even with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. If that is so, we should endeavour to realize where the source of love is to be found, and how to develop it throughout our every hour." - Arthur ArmstrongLove and Thanksgiving (1958)

"Lowliness should form part of our temper, as it is opposed to an aspiring and lofty mind; it is most consistent with the temper of the Lord Jesus, who himself was 'meek and lowly of mind.'"- Oscar KayeHumility (1938)
Resource Manager
29 March 2015 "God has revealed Himself to Israel’s race, at sundry times and in divers manners. He has announced his intentions and made great and precious promises to which he has pledged himself by covenant, which covenant he has ratified and confirmed in a public manner by Christ. Those intentions and promises give us a ground of hope that we could not otherwise entertain. He has declared His purpose to fill the earth with glory and blessing at last, through Abraham and his seed. And so practical is the definition of the glory of the blessing that we know the shape it will take and the effect it will have. He will set up by the hands of Christ a Kingdom, which will gather all mankind into its fold, and bless them with plenty and enlightenment. He will redeem from death. He will abolish every curse, and remove every evil. There shall be no more pain nor sorrow, nor affliction. The inhabitants of the earth will at last be immortal in nature and perfect in mind. Everlasting joy is the prospect ahead." - Robert RobertsSunday Morning (1891)

Men are usually reasonable in their contact with material things. If they cannot realise their desires by immediate action, they look around for the right implement to help them and with wonderful patience and tenacity they will continue their labours until they secure the desired result. They are not often so anxious to develop worthy character and so do not make the same kind of effort." - Islip CollyerPrinciples and Proverbs

The promise of the harvest is in Jesus made glorious, it will yield more sheaves in the great day of his coming, and the harvest carts will be fully laden when the kingdom is delivered up to the Father." - Harry TennantYear's End (1960)
