By One Man reviews the evidence from both Scripture and Christadelphian writers and concludes that Evolutionary Creation is incompatible with Bible teaching and the Birmingham Amended Statement of Faith (BASF). Evolutionary Creation conflicts with core Christadelphian teaching on creation, the first man and woman of the human race, the mortal and sin-biased condition of human nature that came in consequence of Adam and Eve’s sin, the meaning and origin of the devil, the atoning work of Christ and God’s purpose with humanity. By One Man furnishes easy access to the long-standing teaching of Christadelphians on these important subjects, and assures readers that our community’s beliefs are based on sound Scriptural evidence. By One Man is supported by a 575 page Supplementary Material pdf document. The Supplementary Material provides the full context of the eighteen Christadelphian writers, from John Thomas to Michael Ashton, cited in Section 6 of By One Man. The Supplementary Material contains further quotations, not included in the main document, that affirm each writer’s view on creation and the atonement to enable readers to understand more fully what they believed. Moreover, this document can be used as a resource to search on any specific subject or Bible verse to do with creation and the atonement. The Appendices to the Supplementary Material include the following relevant information: A chronology of key events over 1964 to 1967 concerning Bro Ralph Lovelock’s views on theistic evolution and the decision reached by the Watford Ecclesia to withdraw fellowship. The full context of the Watford Ecclesial statements published in the Christadelphian Magazine, including subsequent correspondence and “Letters to the Editor.” Two statements published in the early 1900s by the Sydney and Melbourne ecclesias, which underlined the importance of the physical consequences of Adam’s sin. A collection of articles on the relevance and importance of the BASF. A crucial article on the principles of fellowship by the Christadelphian Committee. It is hoped that By One Man and the Supplementary Material will prove to be a beneficial resource for ecclesias and individual brother and sisters. The ultimate aim of By One Man is to glorify our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ and to establish true unity in the ecclesial world based on the truth of God’s word and an honest acceptance of the BASF as it was intended to be understood by those who wrote it. The Internet offers many resources (quite a few Christadephian) for ONLINE study of the Bible. These can be found quite readily by using relevant search terms. But, I wish to recommend here several free OFFLINE software programs that assist the Bible student. My favourite is TheWord (www.theword.net) which has many functions and a large associated modules library. Another popular free program is E-Sword (www.E-Sword.net). Both TheWord and E-Sword were originally designed for the Windows platform, but E-Sword has recently been made available for Mac users also. Recently I have begun to use iBibleStudy-HD on an iPad and find it both useful and elegant to use. (www.holybibleanswer.com/) For the Android platform, I recommend MySword.(www.MySword.info) My special interest in these offline programs is the ability to integrate Christadelphian resources into them. While reading or viewing these resources, the Bible student can use a few simple mouse clicks or keystrokes to link into relevant Bible passages, commentaries, dictionaries, graphics etc. I have made freely available quite a few such CHDN resources for these three programs - and Online Bible- through my website (www.BibleWorkman.net). My intention is to provide more such modules and I invite others to suggest CHDN resources that would lend themselves to such integration. Writings that have many Bible references are particularly suitable.

Naděje pro Beznadějný Svět Podivuhodná zpráva, kterou přináší Bible Otevřeme-li noviny, posloucháme-li zprávy v rádiu nebo v televizi, vidíme, že svět je v problémech. Náš svět je samý spor -nadřízení, podřízení, politické strany, spory mezi národy. Je naplněn problémy - hlad, znečistění země, vody, vzduchu a všude přítomné násilí, problémy společenské, kriminalita přeplněné věznice, plné nemocnice, mnoho duševně přetížených, obrovské množství alkoholiků a narkomanů. K tomu všemu rostoucí ekonomická krize, velká nezaměstnanost a malá naděje na skutečnou změnu. Tak zvané rozvojové země jsou zadluženy (60 000 000 000 dolarů) a není naděje, že by někdy mohly splatit svoje dluhy. Dvacáté století - svět zmatků Nad všechny zmatky, které ukazují beznaděj, vyniká jeden. Kdyby přišel návštěvník z jiné planety a zkoumal záležitosti člověka, našel by lidstvo rozdělené na národy, které důrazně a důsledně zachovávají svoji totožnost a vydávají obrovské sumy každý rok na výrobu nebo nákup zbraní a výcvik armád . Svět utratil v roce 1984 přibližně 630 miliard liber (statistický údaj z Internacionální instituce pro strategické studie - říjen 1984). Kdyby se náš návštěvník otázal vládnoucích činitelů, proč to dělají, dostal by odpověď „Na obranu“. Kdyby se zeptal „Proti komu?“ Odpověď by zněla, že se bojí ostatních národů. Jinými slovy státy utrácí obrovské sumy peněz, poněvadž nevěří jeden druhému. To je ten problém. A nikdo neví, jak to zastavit. A tak vývoj pokračuje a na svět přicházejí stále „dokonalejší nuklearní zbraně“ a pesimismus a beznaděje se šíří. A toto je dvacáté- prnvní století „pokrokové a civilisované“ dvacátéprvní století. Dvacátéprnví století! Před sto lety Před sto lety byly zcela jiné naděje. Devatenácté století byl věk optimismu, velikého rozmachu v mnoha odvětvích. Objevy ve vědě umožnily úžasný technický rozvoj. Zvyšovala se tovární výroba a přinášela větší bohatství. Bylo umožněno vzdělání všem vrstvám společnosti a byly předpovězeny důležité výsledky. Jak muži a ženy dostávali vzdělání, vznikaly úvahy, že budou vyhledávat ušlechtilejší činnost a budou se věnovat literatuře, hudbě a výtvarné činnosti. Výsledkem bude vyšší morálka společnosti a zlepšení chování povede postupně ke světovému míru. Politikové slibovali nový sociální systém spravedlivosti a rovnoprávnosti. Bohatství bude lépe rozdělováno, všem se bude lépe dařit a tak už nebudou závidět jeden druhému. „Zbav se chudoby a zbavíš se kriminality“, bylo jedno z hesel minulého století. Takže nejlepší myšlenky lidstva budou vyvíjeny a mír bude zachován pro všechny národy. Církevní činitelé se směle přidali a odvážně předpovídali, že v průběhu času všechny národy přijmou „Evangelium Kristovo“. Že svět bude podroben kázáními. Jaké překvapení všem uchystalo „divoké dvacáté století“. Sen se rozplynul. Dvě světové války a strach z nové, s daleko smrtelnějšími zbraněmi. Jak se tyto naděje lidstva ukázaly marné . První víra, že křestanství sjednotí svět - byla zapomenuta. Potom očekávání, že politický vývoj růstem demokracie přinese mír - dnes už tomu nikdo nevěří. Dále naděje , že věda změní svět k lepšímu - výsledky ukazují, že vědecké výsledky jsou nejostřejší dvousečná zbraň. Ve skutečnosti nemáme důvěru, že nastane změna.
