" ... let us strive to lay a good foundation to our faith in the Truth, a foundation that is evenly matched to stand the weariness of the spirit that sometimes affects us; let us strive to overcome it as Jesus did, for it is only a passing phase which will be soon ended when our Lord returns. We remember those words of Isaiah: "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). How much longer before these things become a reality, we do not know, but every day, every hour brings us closer to our Lord’s return. Let us renew our vows, our love, let us forget our weariness and strengthen our faith, let us be alive in the work of the Truth, eagerly waiting for Christ’s return."

"Do our own part faithfully. This is the sum of all wisdom for us and the end of all anxiety. What that part is we learn from the revelation of His will in the word of His inspiration. We are here only for a short day to do it. Our little day is infinitesimal in the countless ages before and behind."

"God is able and willing to strengthen His children with all power if they delight Him. Therefore faith is essential, for "without faith it is impossible to please him" (Hebrews 11:6). It is most easy to think that we have strong faith in God’s scriptures, for we assent to the basic doctrines of the Truth; but when arduous perplexing trials come does our faith remain steadfast and resolute? Or does it vacillate and waver like a leaf before the buffeting wind? We know the Word of God is the source of belief, so in the proportion our knowledge of the scriptures increases our faith will likewise grow. If we would say to our Lord, "Increase our faith!" (Luke 17:5), let us remember to put forth effort to learn of God’s ways, first to "draw near to God", and we will realize that the treasure stores of faith are as close to us as our Bibles."

"God’s way and His methods in dealing with us are always right. He is all wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We ought never to ask the Lord, why this or that. If we wish to gain the victory over the world, the flesh and the devil (sin), and hope for His Kingdom, there to dwell eternally with our Lord Jesus and his saints, then we must take the path of humility and obey God’s word without question, For who are we to be so bold as to question the wisdom of God?"

"Christ was "seen of angels". Even from before his birth angels saw him in the purpose of God, and Gabriel brought the glad tidings of great joy to his virgin-mother. When he was born angels celebrated the birth as a matter of rejoicing; through his temptations and trials angels ministered to and guarded him, fulfilling the saying of the Psalm, God "shall give his angels charge concerning thee". There were angels at his empty grave, and on Mount Olivet when he "ascended to the Father"; and he will come again and "all the holy angels with him"."
