"In our day, God’s Word is the Divine revelation of that which is true, which is capable of giving us Life. It is the inspired and incorruptible Word, by which we may be reborn. And it contains the revelation of the Divine Agent who came to make that Life possible. So, the Old Testament had prepared the way for Christ, who would be the utterance of God’s mind, the revelation of His heart."

"The word existed before the world; it is the foundation on which all the visible things rest; and a man can only live in the full and final sense by subjecting himself to the word of God, bringing himself into line with that fundamental reality. With the word he will “live unto God” and therefore be assured of eternal life; without the word he must perish. All flesh is grass, but the word of God abides for ever, and shall accomplish that whereto it is sent; and if man is to be born again of incorruptible seed, it can only be through the incorruptible word."

"... He committed the treasure of the truth to ‘earthen vessels’, that ‘the excellency of the power might be of God’ and not of man (2 Corinthians 4:7). Thus He ‘chose the base things of the world’ ... ‘that no flesh should glory in his presence’ (1 Corinthians 1:29). These and similar scriptures convey the idea that the reasons of God’s appointments in His principles of religion are that, in the first place, He may be ‘justified’, ‘honoured’, ‘sanctified’, and ‘hallowed’; and next, that man, taking this truly reasonable, humble, and obedient attitude, may be saved from death and live for ever."

"We must be like the Psalmist and learn to see in life’s experiences the hand of God at work helping us in our seeking after divine wisdom. Not only in chastening but in all the varied experiences of life, bitter and sweet, God will cooperate with us in our seeking after wisdom, as He provides us with the opportunities rightly to apply the things that we have learned from His wordto manifest true wisdom."

"Jesus, God’s beloved Son, the one in whom He was well pleased, His Servant in whom He delighted, died in an act of love for his Father and his friends. We remember his agony of body and mind, but let us remember too the glory and the joy of his victory. And let us pray earnestly for the day when his friends will raise their voices in praise and adoration. Perhaps words similar to those of the Queen of Sheba will come to mind in those days: "Blessed be the LORD your God, which delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he you king, to do judgment and justice". (1 Kings 10:9)."
